“An Apple a day keeps the doctor away.” A 2011 Dutch study involving more than 20,000 people found that stroke risk was 52 percent lower among those with a high intake of fruit and vegetables whose edible portion is white. Apples and pears were the most commonly consumed “white” produce. (Consumer Reports on Health, January 2012)

I am a borderline apple “addict” so I’m glad to know these super fruits are really as super as they seem. I eat them with my oatmeal each morning and as easy snacks on the go. It’s easy to fit them in to your day!

Stephanie,

Thanks for this nice comment. Have you read the long article on APPLES in the November 21, 2011 NEW YORKER: “Building a Better Apple” by John Seabrook?
